A SOLO SHOW BY LISA SIGNORINI
CURATED BY JACQUES SMITH
Lisa Signorini's first solo exhibition in New York City curated by Jacques Smith will showcase her marvelous drawings and illustrations in a fantastical environment, supplemented by her fictional films + a special performance by her feminine friends styled in Lou Dallas.
Lili's intricate graphite drawings immerse the viewer into her bizarre unconsciousness. Somewhat familiar images become entrapped with organic lines and motion; interweaving dreamlike narratives based on youth, sexuality, love, and violence. Her work's other-worldly aesthetic draws us in further to take a closer look, plunging you into the fantastical world of Lisa's magical mind.
Lisa Signorini was born in Paris, France. After being raised by her Algerian neighbors in the projects of Paris, Lisa moved to the aristocratic quarters with her family. She went to an alternative high school in the Gay neighborhood in Paris that is now a clothing store. In 2008, she traveled to America to study Printmaking at the Rhode Island School of Design. After a brief stint in New York, she has returned to Paris, continuing to draw relentlessly and edit her fictional movies.
